Personal Information You Provide

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register for an account, make a purchase, or otherwise interact with the Services. This may include:

• Name and email address
• Username and profile photo
• Account credentials (password)
• Payment and billing information (processed by third-party payment processors)
• Language preferences and learning settings
• Community Chat messages, including text and images you post
• Community Chat username displayed to other users
• Reports you submit about other users' content or behavior

Information Collected Automatically

When you access the Services, we may automatically collect certain information, including:

• Device information (device type, operating system, browser type)
• Usage data (pages visited, features used, quiz completions, study activity, Community Chat participation)
• IP address and general location data
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies

Information from Third-Party Authentication

If you sign in using a third-party provider (such as Google), we may receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider, subject to your privacy settings with them.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Services
• Create and manage your account
• Process subscriptions and payments
• Track your learning progress, quiz completions, and daily usage limits
• Personalize your experience (language settings, study preferences, vocabulary)
• Send you service-related communications
• Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the Services
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or fraudulent activity
• Enforce our Terms of Service, Community Chat guidelines, and usage limits
• Moderate Community Chat, review user reports, and take action on objectionable content
• Honor block requests so you do not see content from users you have blocked

Payment Processing

We use third-party payment processors to handle subscription payments. For web subscriptions, we use Stripe, Inc. For iOS App subscriptions, payments are processed by Apple through the App Store and managed by RevenueCat, Inc.

We do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment card details on our servers. Payment information is collected and processed directly by our payment processors in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Subscription Data We Store

We store limited subscription-related data to manage your account and provide the Services, including:

• Subscription status (active, cancelled, expired)
• Subscription plan type (monthly, annual)
• Billing period start and end dates
• Payment processor customer identifiers (e.g., Stripe Customer ID)

Usage Tracking

We track daily quiz completion counts to enforce free-tier usage limits. This data is stored in association with your user account and includes the number of quizzes completed per calendar day. This usage data is used to determine whether you have reached your daily free quota and to provide you with accurate information about your remaining usage.

We may share your information in the following situations:

• Service Providers: We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing (Stripe, Apple, RevenueCat), hosting (Google Cloud/Firebase), and analytics.
• Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
• With Your Consent: We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

The Services integrate with the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, hosting, and analytics
• Stripe: Web subscription payment processing
• Apple App Store: iOS app distribution and in-app subscription payment processing
• RevenueCat: Cross-platform subscription management for mobile
• Google Sign-In: Third-party authentication

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services to understand how they handle your information.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Services. We may also retain your information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Quiz usage data (daily completion counts) is retained for as long as necessary to enforce usage limits and for analytics purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the Settings page of the Services or by contacting us.

Podglot offers an optional Community Chat feature where registered users can post messages and images visible to other users. This section describes how we handle data related to that feature.

Information We Collect in Community Chat

• Messages: Text you post in Community Chat, along with timestamps and edit history where applicable
• Images: Photos you upload to Community Chat, stored on our hosting infrastructure
• User identifiers: Your user ID and Community Chat username, which are displayed alongside your messages
• Reports: When you report a message or user, we collect the report reason, optional notes, the reported message content, and your user ID as the reporter
• Block list: A list of user IDs you have chosen to block, stored on your account so we can hide their messages from your view
• Guidelines acceptance: A record of when you agreed to the Community Chat guidelines before participating

How We Use Community Chat Data

• Display your messages and username to other Community Chat participants
• Deliver reports to our moderation team for review, typically within 24 hours
• Remove objectionable content and suspend or ban users who violate our guidelines
• Filter messages from users you have blocked
• Delete your Community Chat messages when you delete your account

Who Can See Community Chat Data

Community Chat messages and usernames are visible to other authenticated users who access Community Chat. Reports are visible only to Podglot administrators for moderation purposes. We do not sell Community Chat data to third parties.

Retention

Community Chat messages are retained until you delete them, they are removed by moderators, or you delete your account. Report records may be retained after resolution for compliance and abuse-prevention purposes. Your block list is retained until you unblock a user or delete your account.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal information
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information and account
• Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format
• Opt-Out: Opt out of certain data processing activities

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at legal@podglot.com or use the account deletion feature in the App Settings. Deleting your account removes your Community Chat messages and profile data. You can also block users and report objectionable content directly within Community Chat. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.
